You need to look at the replevin statute. Repossession = self help. Replevin = court process to obtain possession.
Our office has been asked to handle a repossession of a camper in Iowa. The creditor has sent the proper Notice to Cure and the 20 days has now passed. What is our next step? Also what is our future steps? Further, if we are able to repossess the camper and sell it, is there anything we need to make sure to do to preserve our right to bring an action to collect on any amount still owed above and beyond what the camper sells for? Thanks.
