Statement of Case: Plaintiff alleged that Defendant Nurse Practitioner was negligent in his care and treatment of a wound to Plaintiff’s left foot. Plaintiff also asserted a vicarious liability claim against UnityPoint Health. Defendants denied that they were negligent and the extent of Plaintiff’s injuries. Defendants also argued that Plaintiff was negligent for failing to attend a wound care referral appointment and by failing to seek timely follow-up care for his foot wound and that such negligence caused Plaintiff’s damages. Plaintiff denied Defendants’ allegations in their entirety.
