Statement of Case: In this case, Plaintiff, Theodore Geerts, as Administrator of the Estate of Veronica Geerts, claims Defendant, Dr. Jody Harmsen, committed medical malpractice in the medical care and treatment she provided to Veronica Geerts on July 29, 2019. Mr. Geerts alleges that Dr. Harmsen was negligent in her care and treatment of Veronica Geerts and as a result of this alleged negligence Veronica Geerts, Theodore Geerts and the Geerts family were damaged. Theodore Geerts has filed this lawsuit on behalf of himself, as the surviving spouse of Veronica Geerts, the four adult children of Veronica Geerts, and the Estate of Veronica Geerts. Dr. Harmsen denies that she was negligent and denies that the care and treatment she provided to Veronica Geerts caused harm to Mrs. Geerts.
