Statement of Case:
This is a civil case brought by the Plaintiff, Savanna Nasgovitz, against the Defendant, Waldorf University. Plaintiff Savanna Nasgovitz was a student at Waldorf University during the 2017/18 and 2018/19 school years. In March of 2019, Ms. Nasgovitz claims she was sexually assaulted in a dorm room on campus. She also alleges that after she made her complaint of sexual assault to Waldorf, that she was retaliated against and harassed.

Statement of Case Defendant:
This is a sex discrimination in education and retaliation case brought under the Iowa Civil Rights Act. Plaintiff Savanna Nasgovitz attended Waldorf University as a student during the 2017- 2018 and 2018-2019 school years.

In this case, Plaintiff Savanna Nasgovitz claims Waldorf University unlawfully discriminated against her on the basis of sex and retaliated against her after she submitted an incident report regarding sexual assault in March 2019. Plaintiff claims Waldorf University’s actions resulted in the unlawful denial of educational benefits to her. Waldorf University denies Plaintiff’s claims. Waldorf University contends it responded reasonably to Plaintiff’s incident report and contends Plaintiff was not denied educational benefits.
